HOME CHILDREN CANADA BHC REGISTRY

How Our Information is Collected

The information in the Home Children Canada Registry comes from multiple valuable sources. One of our most treasured sources is the descendants of Home Children, who often share personal stories and photos, adding a personal touch to the records.

Home Children Canada has partnered with Find My Past to create a comprehensive and ever-growing index of BHC related information. This valuable resource is available to the public at no cost with a general membership. Over 27,000 inspection reports have already been transcribed and made accessible.

Kind reminder: When submitting  entries to the Registry, please ensure that the name of the sending organization is included. We’ve been receiving a growing number of submissions without this information, which significantly increases the workload for our data entry team.

If the sending organization is not clearly listed or easily found, we will need to follow up by email to request it. Your attention to this detail is greatly appreciated and helps keep the process running smoothly.

Thank you for your cooperation!
